7 Days Solar Eclipse Uganda Trips

Day 1 30th October 2013: Arrival
Our 7 Days solar Eclipse Uganda  Trip starts at Entebbe International Airport. Upon arrival, meet and greet with your guide and depart Kampala on a journey to Kidepo Valley National Park, one of Uganda’s most spectacular, it is Uganda’s most isolated national park, but the few who make the long journey north through the wild frontier region of Karamoja would agree that it is also the most magnificent, The park ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses parks. We will have an overnight stay in Kitgum. Dinner & Overnight at the Hotel/Lodge. FB

Day 2 31st October 2013: Kitgum – Kidepo Valley National Park
Second day of our Solar eclipse Uganda trip. We will have breakfast early in the morning, after drive to Kidepo valley National park. On arrival, we will take a game drive along the Narus Valley, where you are mostly likely to see buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, elands, oribis and elephants as well as the odd jackal. Your guide might even be able to locate some lions, sun-bathing atop rocks. You are most likely to see leopards, elephants during this game drive. We will return to our camp for Dinner & Overight. Day 3 1st November 2013: Game Drive to hot springs and nature walk
after your breakfast, another day to experience the true wilderness Kidepo on our solar eclipse Uganda trip. We will set out on a morning game drive to the hot springs via the palm tree lined Kidepo River for game viewing. The game you are likely to see include (but not limited to) ostriches and leopard, tortoises, striped hyena, aardwolf, caracal, cheetah and hunting dogs. Later take a guided walk through the park to crown the evening. Dinner & Overnight at the camp. FBDay 4 2nd November 2013: Cultural Tour- Kitgum

Day 4 2nd November 2013: Cultural Tour- Kitgum

Community tourism blends with your solar eclipse Uganda tour and trip. Visit the Lorokul Cultural Group and explore the fascinating, ancient culture of the Karamojong. Visit traditional homesteads, sample local dishes and hear stories of the folklore of this remote tribe. Later drive to Kitgum for overnight stay. Dinner & Overnight at the Hotel/Lodge. FB

Day 5 3rd November 2013: Kitgum – Pakwach – Solar eclipse – Murchison Falls NP

We will have our breakfast and with picnic lunch, we will drive to Pakwach the point where we will observe the Solar eclipse which is the main event of this ‘Solar eclipse Uganda Trip’. This journey will take about 4 hours, thus will reach pakwach on time. Our solar eclipse is estimated to start at 1pm but maximum eclipse is estimated at 3pm local time. This means we will have almost the entire afternoon watching as the sun and moon mate. After being part of this experience, we will drive to Murchison Falls National Park just a few kilometres away for our overnight and dinner at the camp. FB

Day 6 4th November 2013: game viewing- Launch trip & Hike to the top of the Murchison Falls.
After our breakfast, we will have a morning game drive, with fresh memories of the previous event the rare hybrid – solar eclipse. We will drive in search of the elephants, lions, antelopes, buffaloes, giraffes, and many other animals and birds. We will return to the Camp for lunch. After lunch, we shall do a launch trip to the bottom of the mighty Murchison Falls, these falls make Murchison Falls National Park the most beautiful park, through this boat trip, you will able to see hippos elephants, crocodiles, and a good number of birds including the African Jacana, the Kingfishers, fish eagle among others. We will ascend or hike to the top of the falls accompanied by the park ranger, on the top of the falls, you will see how the mighty falls are formed, you will witness as the water squeezes its way through a small gorge and forms the mighty falls at the bottom. Return to Camp for dinner and overnight stay, pure wilderness experience. FB

Day 7 5th November 2013: Chimpanzee tracking – Departure

Our last day of the Solar eclipse Uganda Trip, our day will start with an awake to breakfast and drive to kaniyo pabidi for chimpanzees trekking, this is yet another experience, you will be in position to see chimpanzees in their natural habitat, you will appreciate that chimps are man’s closest cousin from the way they behave, care for each other. After tracking, we will continue to Masindi for our lunch stop, afterwards we will drive to Kampala and be transferred to the Airport for your flight back carrying plenty of memories on this solar eclipse Uganda tour and trip.
